Context. According to U.S. News and World Reports, Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) has the best computer science graduate program in the United States.

Data and resolution details. This question resolves based on data from CMU's First Destination Outcomes dashboard. It includes all graduates of CMU's computer science department—undergraduate and graduate—whose first job upon graduation is at a for-profit company. A company qualifies as having a DoD contract if its parent or any subsidiary has received a DoD contract—prime or sub—in the two previous calendar years.

The quantity being forecasted is the number of computer science graduates who go to a company with a DoD contract after graudating as a percentage of the number of computer science graduates who go to a for-profit company after graduating.

New data is released December/January annually.

I made two changes to the historical data. I changed the 2019 percentage from 46.2% to 45% and the 2020 percentage from 41.4% to 44.1%. The 2019 change is due to reclassifying government labs as dis-qualifying non-profits. The 2020 change is due to counting Apple employees in 2020, previously excluded because of a negative contract value in 2018 that made the 2018+2019 contract value net negative. It was a mistake to exclude those Apple employees since Apple did in fact have a DoD contract in 2019 (h/t HarrisonD).
